While Americans were stuffing their faces with burgers and hot dogs and watching fireworks, the Italian who filmed this probably did not know at the time that they were recording one of only two videotaped performances of Under A Glass Moon from 1995 (the other is the Canoe Place Inn show), and the only 1995 video of A Change Of Seasons, the acoustic version of Wait For Sleep, and Learning To Live. The second European leg of the Waking Up The World Tour is notoriously under-recorded, which is unfortunate since LaBrie's voice was starting to recover, and there were some curiosities in the setlist at this time (such as the aforementioned acoustic version of Wait For Sleep). It gets worse, because the tapes of this Varese show seem to be damaged. There are periodic moments where the speed changes, and Learning To Live is almost indiscernible under the amount of screwiness with the tapes. The audio is really bad too. I'm hoping that someone who's an ever bigger video/audio wizard than me can fix at least parts of this video, because I didn't have any luck.

Dream Theater - The Change Of A Change Of Seasons

This is one of the rarest DT bootlegs I have, as it was limited to just 50 physical copies. On it, you get: 1. The Chris Cintron audition of A Change Of Seasons. The back cover art says “A Change Of Seasons ’89” which is partially true. The instrumental parts were laid down in 1989, but Cintron would have performed vocals in 1990. 2. The 1993 Limelight performance of A Change Of Seasons. One of only two times ACOS got played live with “the two Kevins” Moore & LaBrie (other was Bonn, Germany 1993). 3. The “Mercy Fuck” performance of A Change Of Seasons from Old Bridge, NJ June 1995. This one sounds nice in contrast to the very noisy version of this show in circulation. 4. The sample from Dead Poet’s Society about Carpe Diem meaning “seize the day.” 5. “A Change Of Simpsons.” This is a Scenes era performance of this song which has a piece of The Simpson’s Theme included.
