Since I shared the latest recording of DT with Moore, I might as well share this one too. Derek joined considerably earlier than some people think. People associate him with the Falling Into Infinity album in 1997, but he had actually been in the band since October 1994, when he was given roughly two weeks to learn the band's complex material after it became apparent Jordan Rudess' touring commitments with Dixie Dregs would prevent him from joining Dream Theater.

I always thought the recording of this show sounded a little strange, and I finally realized, unfortunately AFTER uploading 6:00 from this show to YouTube, that the tapes had been slowed down. It would be cool to hear someone create a speed corrected version. I don't have the energy/time to do it myself right now, but sucking the files into Audacity and increasing the speed (be careful not to select "Pitch" or "Tempo") about 3.8% should do the trick.

Dream Theater - The Change Of A Change Of Seasons

This is one of the rarest DT bootlegs I have, as it was limited to just 50 physical copies. On it, you get: 1. The Chris Cintron audition of A Change Of Seasons. The back cover art says “A Change Of Seasons ’89” which is partially true. The instrumental parts were laid down in 1989, but Cintron would have performed vocals in 1990. 2. The 1993 Limelight performance of A Change Of Seasons. One of only two times ACOS got played live with “the two Kevins” Moore & LaBrie (other was Bonn, Germany 1993). 3. The “Mercy Fuck” performance of A Change Of Seasons from Old Bridge, NJ June 1995. This one sounds nice in contrast to the very noisy version of this show in circulation. 4. The sample from Dead Poet’s Society about Carpe Diem meaning “seize the day.” 5. “A Change Of Simpsons.” This is a Scenes era performance of this song which has a piece of The Simpson’s Theme included. Did they do this on Live Scenes From New York? I can't remember, and have not the energy
