Before Dream Theater performed this show, they also did a session with Radiomafia in Finland including acoustic performances of Lifting Shadows Off A Dream, Wait For Sleep, and The Silent Man. Here is my remastered version as an .m4a file. It's called Helsinki7 because it was my 7th noise reduction attempt: https://mega.nz/#!dwYiwQYC!fyzFEmt97M80IYv9eFvzSI-fB6uSjrCpHAiCmYbskuI

Dream Theater - The Change Of A Change Of Seasons

This is one of the rarest DT bootlegs I have, as it was limited to just 50 physical copies. On it, you get: 1. The Chris Cintron audition of A Change Of Seasons. The back cover art says “A Change Of Seasons ’89” which is partially true. The instrumental parts were laid down in 1989, but Cintron would have performed vocals in 1990. 2. The 1993 Limelight performance of A Change Of Seasons. One of only two times ACOS got played live with “the two Kevins” Moore & LaBrie (other was Bonn, Germany 1993). 3. The “Mercy Fuck” performance of A Change Of Seasons from Old Bridge, NJ June 1995. This one sounds nice in contrast to the very noisy version of this show in circulation. 4. The sample from Dead Poet’s Society about Carpe Diem meaning “seize the day.” 5. “A Change Of Simpsons.” This is a Scenes era performance of this song which has a piece of The Simpson’s Theme included. Did they do this on Live Scenes From New York? I can't remember, and have not the energy...

I don't have any DVD cover art for this one. This is also the 100th item on this blog! https://mega.nz/#F!93RUwCqZ!OpoQi4IdmemwLVNDhMTI_A

Dream Theater Live At Tokyo International Forum 2002 - Turbulent Heat

Someone requested this bootleg from me. It's in .shn format, so Mac users will want to have a copy of  xACT  for converting. The guitar solo before Scarred from this show is among my favorite pieces of Petrucci's playing. https://mega.nz/#F!AyIXkYjI!Y9wHM9CS3kEU3lkiX-6FRw

Great news - this blog is coming back (but under a new address)

And as my first offering, here is the radio broadcast of Dream Theater from the Kobetasonik Festival in Bilbao, Spain 2009. https://mega.nz/#F!RC4RyJYB!YlUVokd8NsFMAKUbaFBowQ The bootleg from Lost And Found Productions also included a DVD of Miami Beach 2009, which was posted on this blog last year: http://eatmyassandblog.blogspot.com/2017/07/dream-theater-filmore-miami-beach-fl.html

Two Sylph Records Bootlegs Of Dream Theater From 2006 - Just A Part Of It & Ready To Leave It Behind

I believe there is an entire string of these CDs covering the Japanese Leg of the Octavarium Tour, but I'm only confident I have two of them (not sure about one of the bootleg versions of the "Made In Japan" set I have). https://mega.nz/#F!AawW1SaR!cwxkhF9BY1_tTXfb-abK9g     https://mega.nz/#F!0z52lShA!1ZaZvLcX6FCls6s7Trriiw

Dream Theater - A Dramatic Play - Orix Theater, Osaka, Japan 2012

Image
Here's a rare one from A Dramatic Tour Of Events. For the diehards only though, because the sound is pretty reverberated. https://mega.nz/#F!Bi5zAQ6J!k6iBYnQBvLrqISsK3Nw99w

Dream Theater - Along For The Ride In Wolverhampton

Image
Although I might be packing up my bags on YouTube, there were a few (quite expensive in fact) Dream Theater bootlegs I bought recently, so I may as well get my money's worth by sharing some of them over here. This is the only bootleg I've ever shared on my blog from 2014. https://mega.nz/#F!xmBhzCgC!CK9DPPbRKSniVjEuLJkM7Q

Dream Theater Live At The Paramount, Huntington, NY 2012/07/19 (2DVD)

Image
If people asked me what my favorite Dream Theater show with Mike Mangini would be, I would say this one! It has some of the curveballs in the setlist which have been sorely lacking since Portnoy left the band: a version of Paradigm Shift with a guest appearance from Tony Levin, the only performance of To Live Forever after 2004, and a cover of the King Crimson song 21st Century Schizoid Man with Crimson ProjeKCt. Why this show was selected to be so eventful, I'm not sure. Mangini is also brimming with energy and passion here, especially on Breaking All Illusions. People who think he is robotic and soulless need to watch this. Also, This Is The Life and Lost Not Forgotten (two of the best songs from A Dramatic Turn Of Events in my opinion) were not played a great deal live. Unfortunately, these DVDs suffer from some big gaps in the audio between the .VOB files that interrupt the flow of these songs a bit. Dream Theater - Fan Recordings Of Once In A LIVEtime Show (1998/06/25)

Image
This is a special post I've been planning for a long time. It got delayed because I did not receive the "Vive La France" bootleg from someone on schedule as predicted. Anyway, there's a very bad quality audience video of the show in Paris at Le Bataclan which is featured on the Once In A LIVEtime CD. Here are some thumbnails and a download link for the DVD: https://mega.nz/#F!BbQSFDbQ!MIFPoe7UBIoCncj5Vs-PGQ The main problems with this video (on top of the picture and sound quality simply being bad) is that the speed keeps changing, and it's also missing chunks of footage. There are numerous audio recordings of this show someone could use to combine with the video and make it watchable, as my friend Robo4900 did for Under A Glass Moon , and I've done so far for Hey You and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road . You have, of course, the Once In A LIVEtime CD itself, but I cannot legally share that. The things I can legally share are:   • The Once In A LIVEtime Ou...

Dream Theater Live In Milwaukee, Wisconsin 2002 [FLAC]

Image
I recently got a bunch of rare bootlegs from the Six Degrees tour and this one stood out slightly  in terms of sound quality (which really says something about the others, since I would still only rate this one a B+).  Somebody may have requested this show of me too. I can't remember. The name of this venue is listed as either the The Rave or Eagles Ballroom. I think they're basically two different rooms inside the same building complex, but I'm not sure which room DT played in. Download link: https://mega.nz/#F!ECQygaLI!5SY1irq0u7gYufaXFo2k1g

Dream Theater - 1998 Waldrock Festival (Infinite Dream version) [.WAV]

Image
I posted a version of this show (the one with the mobius strip artwork ) on my YouTube channel earlier this year, but ended up removing it, because I later noticed the cymbal sound was super messed up, I probably did not notice at the time because I had a cold and my ears were sort of plugged up. That led me to seeking out some other versions of this show. This one, released on the Bondage Music label in Japan, does not have the messed up cymbal issue, but has some crackling (as if it was transferred from a vinyl) and tape hiss. The tapes might also be too slow - I'm not sure. I was planning on creating an improved version but I was not happy with my initial attempts at removing the noise, and so I this will have to be another project I leave up to someone else if they're up for doing it. Dream Theater Live In Osaka, Japan 2000 - Looking Through Her Eyes

Image
This is a rare-ish bootleg from Sylph Records in Japan (though I actually purchased one of the copies from a Korean website). I give the sound quality a B. Not bad at all for an audience recording, but maybe a little excessive around 2 kHz. Download link: https://mega.nz/#F!dO5HQLCb!vAyzrwURULDp2RC7FPg-8w

Dream Theater Live At The Orlando House Of Blues 2000/03/03 (DVD) + Soundboard Audio

Image
DVD Specs: As some "Dreamers" know, there is a low quality webstream of the band's March 3rd, 2000 show at the Orlando HOB (I have sometimes seen audio bootlegs from this show labeled as Buena Vista or Lake Buena Vista). This is an extremely rare version of the stream which is "hi-gen" (meaning distortions introduced to the tape through multiple transfers) but free of the periodic freezing which afflicts the other two versions I've seen. The sound on this version is bad. Full of crackling noises and suddenly gets LOUD at times. So, what I would really like to see is for someone to combine the video in part or in full with the high quality soundboard audio from this show. I'm giving away a version called "Metropolis 1928: Scenes From Echo's Hill" which is better than others I've heard: CD 1: 01. Regression 02. Overture 1928 03. Strange Deja Vu 04. Through My Words 05. Fatal Tragedy 06. Beyond This Life 07. Amazing Grac...

Dream Theater - Barcelona Rock Fest 2015 + The Astonishing Brussels

Image
Although I previously was not intending on sharing any Dream Theater bootlegs after 2012 because I don’t like the direction the band’s sound has gone in (especially with LaBrie’s voice hitting the skids), I got the idea of sharing these bootlegs because they both stem back to the same record company (Doolin Records), and I don’t believe they justify the prices which have been asked for them on Discogs. The Barcelona one has a lot of crowd noise and phasing problems, probably from the wind blowing in an open air venue. The Astonishing one received the following nasty review: I don't feel quite that strongly about it, but it is sort of muddy and reverbated, and on the version of the album I got, "The Ashtonishing [sic]" is clearly misspelled, which isn't exactly a confidence builder: Anyway, here are the bootlegs so people can form their own opinions: Barcelona 2015: https://mega.nz/#F!YCwEmCib!joeAQwEhUKQMqcndSGfKgg The Astonishing Brussels: https://m...

Dream Theater - The Complete Dreamy Landscape Set

This is an elusive bootleg which contains two shows from the Japanese leg of A Dramatic Tour Of Events. You also get bonuses of Andy McKee opening from these shows. Gorgeous! Because I'm feeling lazy right now (or it would be more accurate to say I'm swamped with work), consult these two Discogs entries for the setlists: https://www.discogs.com/Dream-Theater-Dreamy-Landscape-1/release/5718279 https://www.discogs.com/Dream-Theater-Dreamy-Landscape-2/release/5718332 Download link: https://mega.nz/#F!IeIihCAJ!9pOvhKvqom1yV7JuQJrvYg

My Condolences To Adrenaline Mob (RIP David Z & AJ Pero)

Image
On Friday, July 14th, 2017, Adrenaline Mob bassist David Z (full name David Zablidowsky) was killed in a motor vehicle accident near Gainsville, FL. The band's RV was parked on the side of the road to fix a flat tire when a tractor-trailer plowed into it and started a fire. David Z, who also played in Trans-Siberian Orchestra, was 38 years old. Russell Allen, Mike Orlando, drummer Jordan Cannata, and several others were badly injured in the crash. This is not the first tragedy to befall Adrenaline Mob. On March 20th, 2015, drummer AJ Pero (ex-Twisted Sister) was found dead on the band's tour bus of an apparent heart attack.   I was feeling pretty shitty yesterday because I poked a lot of fun at Adrenaline Mob back in 2012, including, notably, the "Hitler Reacts To The Adrenaline Mob EP" video. Just because I didn't like the band's music that much doesn't mean I wished death or injury on any of the band members for crying out loud! The Omertá album w...

Dream Theater Live At Massey Hall, Toronto, Canada 2004/03/25 2DVD

Image
Sample Thumbnails: DVD Specs: Probably NTSC   A popular DVD from the Train Of Thought tour. Picture is a little "fuzzy" but also has a lot of zooms and close-ups on the band members. This show contains two infamous moments. First, the rather poor cover of A Passage To Bangkok (beginning a tradition of one-off Rush covers played in Toronto which continued with Jacob's Ladder in 2006 and The Camera Eye in 2009), and LaBrie hitting a shrill, bum note on the "but those days are gooooooone" part of A Change Of Seasons which used to be on YouTube under the name "James LaBrie's worst live moment" or something like that. I heard a rumor that LaBrie was informed at this show that his father had a heart attack, so that could account for his spotty performance.
